Carlo Purassanta is the CEO of Microsoft Italia. Thanks to his experience in IT, particularly in the cloud and services market, Carlo Purassanta is leading Microsoft Italia in the company’s development phase and the country’s innovation system with the aim of supporting the digitalization of businesses, public administration and Italian citizens.
Carlo Purassanta comes from Microsoft’s French branch where, since January 2011 he has covered the role of Services Division Director. Since joining Microsoft, he has always shown a great focus on competitive strategies, market share growth and business results in the various markets, with special attention to the companies and large customers segment.
Prior to joining Microsoft, Carlo Purassanta worked at IBM for fourteen years, leading various business areas in France and Europe, in the role of Network Services Executive, Director of Infrastructure Services and later as Senior Business Development Executive for strategic Outsourcing projects in the South-West Europe area. He also served as IBM spokesman for the cloud computing strategy and offering.
43 year-old Carlo Purassanta holds a degree in Business Engineering from Milan’s Polytechnic and a Master of Business Administration from Henley Business School. He is a member of the General Council of Confindustria Digitale and President of the Group on Supply Chain Platforms for SMEs. He also serves on the Advisory Board of Confindustria’s Foreign Investors Committee and is responsible for its working group dedicated to “Research, innovation and education”. Finally, he is board member of Amcham – American Chamber of Commerce in Italy. In his spare time he likes travelling, playing tennis, listening to and playing music. He is also a photography and architecture enthusiast.
